PAINTING TECHNIQUE

First a sketch is made with a pencil. The first draft will be a thin layer of oil (usually brown or gray). In the second layer colors will be added. When this layer is dry, I try to refine the composition with transitions from shadow to light. The final layer is very transparent; here the underlying layers as used when the glace technique (many medium with a little oil) is applied.
